A very warm welcome to the 61st congress of the South African Association of Physicists in Medicine and Biology (SAAPMB).
A special word of welcome to the 5 international speakers that will be presenting at the congress as well as at the specialised sessions on "AI in Medical Physics", which is the theme of the congress. We are honoured to have you as our guests and are pleased to have academics of your stature sharing your knowledge and expertise with us.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the various companies that have participated by way of exhibition and/or sponsorship. Attending an event of this nature would not be financially viable for most delegates if it were not for the participation and generosity of the companies. I urge all delegates to ensure that they give these companies their due attention whilst at the congress.
I thank the members of the organising committee for assisting me and working tirelessly to ensure that we deliver a successful and memorable event.
